Nandos Restaurant: Le Mexicane ou Le Portuguese?
Chatted with fellow foodie WYing, (who prefers to be known as Sydney Tay) on MSN. Sydney went to the Nandos at Oxford where she's residing for a few months before returning to SG in Oct. I guess there's a Nandos everywhere except SG. We were daydreaming of franchaising the restaurant when I finished my studies and she's happily back in SG permanently. That would be 3 1/2 years later. I checked out her comments on the blog and realised that Nandos could be a Portuguese restaurant. Went to google the restaurant and found these:
MEXICAN Nandos RestaurantUnit 204, The Chimes Centre, Uxbridge UB8 1GE01895 274277

http://www.nandos.co.uk/ Way back in the 15th Century, in the rich soils and intense heat of Southern Africa, our Portuguese forefathers discovered the African Birds Eye Chilli. Known as PERi-PERi, this fiery little chilli combined with special herbs and spices, lemon and a touch of garlic are the ingredients that give our Nando's original PERi-PERi
SO? I think good recipes and fresh ingredients will make any dish yummy regardless of culture, nationality or history................................(sounds familar)
