Eat, Pray, Love @ the Earthling's Haven
Tuesday, April 11, 2006 The Fat Earthling's Bombay Cafe experience

I love Indian Cuisine. I can recognise a dish by its appearance but it takes some effort to recall the name. Anyway, the short earthlings and I went to Bombay Cafe for a light tea that afternoon. The dishes were pleasantly light in flavour, not the strong spicy ones that I was anticipating. Sevice was superb and we were given some generous free dips to taste.

Kukuri Mushrooms: the juicest, freshest mushrooms baked with some cheese and vegetables, in the shell of some special pasty from India.

Vegetable Fried rice: Did I mention that this is a vegetarian restaurant? I was skeptical about how fried rice can taste good without meat but this dish proves that my worries were unfounded.
The rice was fragrant and lightly flavoured and taste so heavenly that we finished the whole plate!

Delicious dips on the house: humus and chickpeas dips

The beverages were defintely visually appealing: Makes me wonder why some famous coffee joints never serve me lovely cappucinos like this. Isn't coffee drinking supposed to be an Art as well? From left to right: Royal Falooda ( a lovely drink with layers of ice-cream, nuts, rose syrup and Falooda (I think they are referring to the "tadpole eggs" or the starch strips at the bottom) , cappucino and chocolate shake

Address: Bombay Cafe, 332 and 334, Tanjong Katong Road, S(437107)
Three thumbs up for this restaurant with its unique interior and excellent food and service.
